We work together with one of the best aesthetic medicine doctors in Warsaw !!!
Botox is used since many years by doctors as a substance which stops conduction of impulses in the motor nerves. In aesthetic medicine this effect is used to weaken selected parts of face mimic muscles. This effect causes the skin on the muscle not to wrinkle, which makes the wrinkles less visible. Additionally thanks to this the skin stays relaxed, is nourished and better supplied with blood. In such conditions the skin can regenerate and the ageing processes can be stopped. Botox is used to smooth our mimic wrinkles around the eyes (so called crow’s feet), horizontal wrinkles on the forehead and vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows (so called lion’s wrinkle). The treatment consists of injecting Botox into specifically chosen parts of the mimic muscles with the use of a thin needle. The treatment is short and does not require anaesthetic or any previous preparations.
Dysport is a substance which works the same as Botox, only produced by a different company. Both substances differ in the way of measuring the dose and their storing.
Apart from small red spots the treatment doesn’t cause any skin changes. We can return to our daily activities right after the treatment without fear of curious looks of other people. Botox takes a few days to take effect; the effect stays on for about 3-4 months after the first treatment. The effects can last up to 5-6 months after the next treatments.
Botox is considered a safe medicine. Aesthetic medicine uses smaller amounts of Botox than, for example, neurology. Undesired effects are rare and can be connected to the needle sting (redness, small swelling) or the substance (slight weakness of the muscles connected to the places where Botox was injected, small swelling). The important thing is that the undesired effects do not compromise the health and fully disappear after a while. No intensified allergic reactions have been confirmed.
The procedure can only be performed by a doctor experienced with these substances.
Not recommended with:
Use of botox is not recommended with pregnancy, breast feeding, some neurologic diseases, sensitivity to albumin and while using antibiotics from the aminoglycoside group.
A doctor decides about the use of Botox on a given spot.
